Our lives are full of anticipations for what is going to happen today, tomorrow and in the future.
As a small child I looked forward with immense excitement for what I would receive on Christmas.
As a youth I so desired the day I would receive a driver’s license.
As a young adult I dreamed of the time I would meet a loving partner to share the rest of our life together.
As a Christian, I look forward with unprecedented expectation to the return of my Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.
Our Heavenly Father, after witnessing the fall of Adam and Eve, losing the spirit given to them, so looked forward to the day He would have children born of incorruptible seed, of the eternal spirit.
Look how long He had to wait before the gift of holy spirit was made available on the day of Pentecost. How extraordinary this gift was yet it took thousands of years to be fulfilled.
What kind of anticipation did the followers of Jesus have when He said, “the works I do you shall do and even greater works…
As a result of Pentecost, man finally had the indescribable power to do the works of Jesus and even more!
When we look at how important Pentecost is in the scheme of life with our Heavenly Father, it ranks right at the top with the redemptive work of Christ.
Pentecost demonstrates the powerful results of what Christ did in redeeming man.
Pentecost is the revealing and unleashing of God’s awesome power and love given to every born again believer when they believe joining the family of God (See Romans 10:9). When we think of Pentecost our heart should burst wide open in gratitude for all our Heavenly Father did saving mankind hearts.
