There is a wonderful principle that brings astonishing results as you minister to God’s people. So, have a seat and listen (read).
Jesus Christ demonstrated something that we can benefit immensely from. Once He finished redeeming man by His death, God raised Him up and made Him to sit at His right hand. Being seated infers that something is completed. God sat on the seventh day after creation. He was completely done.
Another key point in being seated is that the one seated has authority. You have probably seen movies and TV shows where the king or the judge is seated and different people approach him requesting favor knowing that the person seated has authority to perform. Jesus Christ when He was seated at the right hand of God, He was given authority as head of the Church. He was seated next to God.
Hebrews 10:12 & 13: [ESV] But when Christ had offered for all time a single sacrifice for sins, he sat down at the right hand of God,waiting from that time until his enemies should be made a footstool for his feet.
When it comes to us walking in power as a son of God, we fully identify with Christ. The work He did we can do and greater work we can do because He went to His Father. God seated Christ at His right hand indicating all power was His.
Jesus delegated His authority to us. We have Christ in us (Colossians 1:27). Our believing flows from our authority in Christ. How do we know we have the authority to minister like Jesus did? We are seated with Him at the right hand of the Father!
Ephesians 1:19 & 20: [KJV] And what is the exceeding greatness of his power to us-ward who believe, according to the working of his mighty power,Which he wrought in Christ, when he raised him from the dead, and set him at his own right hand in the heavenly places,
Ephesians 2:6: [KJV] And hath raised us up together, and made us sit together in heavenly places in Christ Jesus:
You and I are just like a king or a judge who is seated, exercising his or her authority to make judgements or decisions. As a child of God seated at the right hand of God with Christ, we have the authority over everything that tries to defeat us! Whenever you are confronted by the adversary, remember all you have to do is “have a seat and bring deliverance.”
